Two-Part Silicone Mold-Making
Mold making with silicone rubber is a basic technique that can be applied to creating sculptures in resin, wax, pewter, soap, plaster, or even chocolate. We’ll discuss some of the basics of rubber molds, and walk the participants through making a simple block mold using two part silicone.
Eva Funderburgh is a Seattle-based sculptor, with a Bachelor’s of Science and Art from Carnegie Mellon University. In 2010, she was an artist in residence in Denmark at the Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center. Since then, she’s expanded her work into both installation and bronze casting. In 2015, she was part of the Seattle’s Office of Arts and Culture Public Art Boot Camp, an award winning program for artist emerging into the public art field. She now teaches bronze casting part time, and is a full time sculptor working in public art, installation, ceramics, and cast bronze.
